Vermont Search & Rescue K-9 has as its’ second highest priority community education about canine search and rescue. We embrace the belief that we have an educational responsibility to the communities that we serve. While we are trained to find missing persons, we wish to prevent children, hikers, the elderly and outdoor enthusiasts from getting lost to begin with.

Our members and dogs visit schools, scout troops, church groups, fairs, safety days, dog shows, nursing homes and the like to help bring educate about canine search & rescue and about staying safe in the woods to you.

The actual canine search & rescue work is conducted behind the scenes. As a result few people have any understanding about what is involved.  We are passionate about the work which we do and would love to share this with you.

For young children we offer a “Lost …..but found safe and sound” video program paired with a brief talk and a demonstration of how our dogs work.  We can tailor our program to meet your needs. All our dogs are healthy, safe and friendly with all age groups.
